IP addresses: what we guarantee

We guarantee

The physical location of your server: the data centre you chose.

We do not guarantee

• the country that external GeoIP databases report for your address;
• that a specific IP address stays with you forever — an address can change, including on our initiative when a network is withdrawn from service;
• that an address is reachable from every network or country: routing and blocks on the side of third-party operators are outside our control.

What does not exist

A self-ban on a pool, subnet or country; a permanent reservation of an address; a white list of subnets to issue from. The address is issued automatically from the pool bound to your location.

What you can do

Change the IP in the client area — free, up to 50 times, data is kept.

If a specific address is on a block list, create a ticket describing the problem. In exceptional cases engineers can pick a free address from another subnet of the same location by hand. That is not a standard service, the subnet is not guaranteed and no deadline is promised. The change is applied by an agent inside your VPS, so the service SSH access must be open; if it is closed the change stops with PROVISION_VM_AUTH_REJECTED and you finish it through the VNC console.

If you need a guaranteed network of your own, that is a separate IP lease service, not a setting of an existing one.
