What happens if the host node has a problem

Modified on Fri, 28 Aug at 11:03 AM

Your VPS runs on a physical host node. If that node has a hardware or resource problem, your service can be unavailable or unstable while our engineers work on it.

What we do

Engineers work on the node itself. The current state of known incidents is published on our status page.

What we do not do

We do not offer a manual migration of a VPS to another node or another location as a service, and we cannot promise that an address is preserved if a service is moved. An address belongs to the pool of its location and cannot be routed anywhere else.

What you can do while the node is being worked on

  • Change the location in the client area — the server is recreated in another data centre immediately. The IP changes and the data is deleted, so this needs a copy.
  • Order a new service in the same location and restore your data from your own copy. The address will be a different one.
  • Wait for the node to be fixed, if the data on the server matters more than the downtime.

If the downtime affects you materially, create a ticket with your service number and describe the impact — we will look at what can be done in your case.
